Lizzy Giles:
I practice Hatha yoga. My style is clear and accessible offering
challenges and gentle relaxation for a range of abilities and experience.
The flow from one exercise or posture to the next is integral to
every class.
Continuously inspired by many great teachers and clients from
a wealth of disciplines and physical abilities my yoga practice
and teaching are constantly evolving and diversifying.
.
The infinite range Yoga’s benefits became apparent to me
while working in a pressurised office environment. Teaching the
physical angle has been a natural progression from my previous
career as a dancer. Performing missed the focus on inner balance,
subtle energy, stillness, well being and much more experienced
in yoga. In 1999 I gave up fulltime finance work to teach yoga
and the journey continues to the present day.
Through yoga I strive to be in the here and now, live in the
moment and accept what it brings, smile from inside and glow
on the outside. Sometimes I achieve this.
Initially trained at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerela, India, I
later completed IPTI two year teacher training with Inner
Healing School of Yoga in Wellingborough. Subsequently I gained a diploma
with Birthlight to teach pregnancy yoga, this added a fresh approach
to my teaching. I also teach postnatal yoga for mother and baby
following completing a BWY module with Sitaram.
I previously practiced Thai Massage which now complements my
yoga teaching and hold an ITEC certificate in Anatomy, Physiology
and Swedish massage.
