BIRTH PREPARATION WORKSHOPS FOR EXPECTANT MOTHER AND BIRTHING
PARTNER HELD ON SATURDAY MORNINGS
The main aim of the birth preparation workshop is to give the
birthing partner a more confident supportive role towards the
expectant mother during birthing.
Often a birthing partner can
be at a loss as to exactly how to help, they may be uncertain,
nervous and find the experience distressing.
This workshop provides
basic tools to help and support the birthing mother physically
and emotionally whilst learning to relax, accept and trust in
the whole event as it unfolds.
Please enquire for dates
and further information.
Classes are ongoing,
please contact me first.
Yoga is the ideal
exercise for pregnant and post natal women and is safe and
accessible to all, whether new to Yoga or an experienced practitioner.
It provides practical
support in preparing for birth with an emphasis on preventive
care and is widely recommended by midwives and doctors as a
way of keeping fit and mobile in pregnancy and beyond.

These yoga classes
provide you with the opportunity to safely stretch, strengthen,
breath and relax. The aim is to give you the tools to
practice at home in order to maintain a healthy pregnancy, prepare
for birthing physically and mentally, get to know your baby and
aid the recovery of your post natal body and give you quality time
out to relax, get to know and bond with your growing baby.
Yoga
can help prevent or relieve common minor pregnancy or post natal
related ailments and will help keep your body supple, boost energy
and relieve stress and anxiety whilst also being a great opportunity
for you to meet other expectant or new mums.
It
is important to listen to your intuition in pregnancy and beyond,
do what feels right for you and your baby. If you feel you need
to rest, feed, nappy change etc then please do so, you do not have
to join in every exercise, listen to and respond to your body’s
needs, remember the class is time out for you and your baby..
Previous expectant
mothers from this class have said:-
‘It felt like
a wonderfully indulgent time for me and my baby and was invaluable
for me. Yoga in pregnancy is a great opportunity to stop
and listen to you body at such a hectic time.’ NR

"To be honest I didn’t
really know what to expect but have really enjoyed all the
sessions, they really helped
with my back and I always slept amazingly well on a Monday night.
I
have told my midwife about the classes and think every pregnant
woman should come.’ LT
Previous
mothers from post natal class have said:-
I
hoped to gain relaxation tips, healing of mind and body and the
opportunity to ‘network’ – all achieved. Thank
you so much, the whole yoga experience has been fantastic!’ DB
‘I
would definitely recommend these classes to others. I have
thoroughly enjoyed them, it has been good to see other babies
grow and develop and I have made some new friends that I hope
to keep in touch with.’ EK
